VOVO Security was founded by Josh Berg, a military veteran and experienced investigator, with a vision to provide top-tier security solutions built on discipline, integrity, and expert knowledge.
As a family-owned business, VOVO Security operates alongside its sister company, Empire Surveillance, which specializes in private investigations and surveillance services. This unique combination of security and investigative expertise allows VOVO to offer a comprehensive approach to risk management and protection.

Josh Berg
Founder & Lead Investigator
Josh Berg is a military veteran with years of experience in security, investigations, and law enforcement operations. As the founder of both VOVO Security and Empire Surveillance, Josh brings an unmatched level of expertise in risk assessment, executive protection, and private investigations. His leadership ensures that every client receives reliable, mission-focused protection tailored to their needs.
Alongside Josh, VOVO Security’s team is made up of seasoned security professionals who have served in high-risk operations, joint government security missions, and private security details. Their experience ensures that every security challenge is met with confidence, strategy, and precision.
Shaine Kimball
Co-Owner
Shaine Kimball is a seasoned Army veteran with over 12 years of distinguished military service and extensive experience in the private security sector. During his tenure in the Army, he attained the rank of Staff Sergeant (P). His training and experience have honed his leadership, risk assessment, crisis management, and operational planning abilities, which have effectively transitioned into his civilian endeavors.
While serving in the Michigan Army National Guard, Shaine concurrently pursued a career in the security industry, where he held various roles spanning over 6 years. These responsibilities included joint operations with the Department of Homeland Security, corporate security, threat analysis, and executive protection. His practical experience in both high-pressure environments and strategic oversight positions has equipped him with expertise in safety protocols, asset protection, and team coordination.
Shaine is known for his unwavering discipline, integrity, and commitment to mission-first principles. He adopts a proactive and meticulous approach to every task, whether managing teams, conducting comprehensive risk assessments, or developing intricate security plans.
